The Jazz concert nóstos, on June 21st at 7.00 pm (following the inauguration of the exhibition on Giuseppe Viner) has the important theme of the “Journey of Return”, the term “nóstos” (in ancient Greek: νόστος) means precisely "journey of return", the central theme of Homer's Odyssey. It is the root of the word "nostalgia", composed of “nóstos” (return) and “álgos” (pain), which can be translated as "the pain of the desire to return".The starting and meeting point of this new project was a piece whose title is simply: “Journey”. This is a composition by the great accordionist Richard Galliano and was the first score shared by the quartet during the initial rehearsal, becoming almost a metaphor for the path undertaken: a musical navigation between Mediterranean suggestions, memories, distant echoes and songs that seem to re-emerge from the depths of time.Alongside a few reworkings of pieces by authors such as Charlie Haden or the aforementioned Galliano, the repertoire includes all original compositions, testifying to the personal research of each of the members.A European jazz that places the Mediterranean at the center of musical research. This is the lifeblood of the new formation composed of guitarist Marco Poggiolesi, pianist Andrea Garibaldi, double bassist Mauro Giannaccini and drummer Vladimiro Carboni.
